The Beekeeper

A caring farmer from England.

A cheerful guy who´s heart is filled with love.

Beekeeper´s name in Scottish / Celtic means “strong as a bear / bear hero”.

In the Roman clan name it means courageous or noble.

Our names have significant meanings with strong energetic points.

They set the stage for the rest of our lives.

As much as our name has a strong meaning and marks our lives, our geographical location means a lot too.

Where we live impacts our whole being.

Cultural differences are not to be taken lightly.

They should be respected and studied in a natural way.

Meaning, whenever there is a possibility to learn about a new country or nation, don´t wait for the tickets to get cheaper.

Go and explore in your local neighbourhood.

Talk to your friends.

Talk to people you don´t know.

Expand your horizon by inviting new experiences in on a daily basis.

You don´t know, what you don´t know.

How can you expect to understand your coworker, friend or partner even, if your baseline is way off?

A cultural approach in knowing who you are interacting with is vital.

Being at “home” in your comfort zone might be tempting.

Expanding that zone will also give you freedom to choose where you would like to go.

Having a local showing you the way is even better.

That is the BEST way to explore.

In Croatia, I found my pot of honey.

Honey has had a strong influence in my upbringing.

It´s powerful presence was yet again felt when I got sunburned on our 8 hour sailboat trip around the islands.

A TUI rep came over with some honey for me to massage into the worst places.

The same night, another rep. handed out three different shots; sljivovica, orahovica and medica.

Translated; 3 types of strong liquors divided into flavours of plum, walnut and honey.

That was the start of this story ..

Kalamota island: moments of bliss;

The Beekeeper was sitting, sipping on some wine on his side of the balcony watching the sunset over the bay.

After I had massaged yoghurt on my good friend B - yoghurt is the Balkan cure for sunburn ;) - I stepped out to our side of the vast balcony to place my bikini to dry. As we were at a TUI Blu couples only retreat, I assumed the guy was here with his fiancé, like the rest of the crowd. Being polite & wanting to say hi, I simply said:

Hey neighbour.

He cheerfully replied;

Hey neighbour.

We got to know a little bit about each other;

He was there with his sister on a last minute trip, whom he had been taking care of after she had been stung badly by mosquito bites.

Her name was B. - Yet another syncronicity!

Since it was dinner time, we agreed that we would meet in the restaurant for dinner.

As yoghurt takes a little bit time to dry, and me and my B weren´t that hungry, we ended up having a late dinner.

That meant that we met our new found friends a little later than agreed upon.

To celebrate this new friendship, I decided to order some of the delicious medica (honey liquor).

Despite the fact that I am not very found of drinking, medica is sweet as a dessert & it was going down smoothly.

The crowd that we ended up spending our night with were fun English people. We had a blast!

Laughter & medica bring people toghether!

In the coming two days, me and my B spent the time with The Farmer and his B. In unison we came to the realisation that, the B´s were the “bees”, the Farmer was “The Beekeeper” and since I liked medica so much - I became the honey.

We spent our days swimming, SUP boarding, reading, eating, joking and genuinely having fun together.

This was the first time, in a long time, that I had met someone so genuinely tender and mindful.

The way The Beekeeper - a kind-hearted farmer from England - took care of his sister and the people in his surroundings.

The way he spoke about his family.

The way that he made people feel respected and valued in his presence.

A strong sign that he has been properly raised in a loving home by his parents, whom he speaks so highly of.

What is life, if we cannot dedicate a word or two, to someone who created a strong impact in our life?

We meet people on our paths on a daily basis.

How often do we tell them, how much they mean to us?

What if you met a person on your path that happened, in a slight instance, alter your life so profoundly,

In this moment, literally shaken the ground beneath you – or here - shaky legs on a SUP board will do. :D

How can energetic meetings be so powerful you say?

Have you ever been tapped into the energetic flow of the earth?

Have you heard her speak?

Speaking of the nurturing energy she holds?

Holding space for other people can be tough.

Tough people can be so gentle and kind.

Kindness fosters good connections.

Connections that have life altering meanings.

Meanings that cannot be explained in a word or two.

Two people in a completely different place in the world.

Worlds come together when there is powerful energy holding space for each other.

Other people might not understand, understanding is not needed, when the sparkle is there.

People working so close to Mother Earth hold a special energy that cannot be described.

It can only be felt.

Make sure to protect those people.

Nourish them.

Hold them.

Take care of them.

They are the ones that will help us forward in creating the world a better place to live in.

Remember; Surround yourself with people who feel like honey.

Beekeper; keep feeding the nation.

You´re on a good path my friend.

Thank you for holding space in a time where it was needed the most.

May your pot always be overflowing in abundance with great health, love and freedom.

Love & Blessings,

Zerina
